Work evolving / sketch in progress
I present an insight regarding the evolutionary process of a complex large piece, which will be completed as oil/linen and 32 × 64 inches.
Below are my rough sketches and jottings of ideas/concepts as I worked the narrative for this piece. The concept and motifs to be used were conceived from the onset. However, because I seek a strong narrative relating to Divine Judgement working this sketch demanded I work my ideas thoroughly during planning, as conveyed in the sketches below.
The result (right) is another ‘existential piece’, that brings together many of my motifs and artistic language to define the mortal world and the consequence of the degradation of the soul, the enactment of divine judgement, damnation, redemption or salvation
